When trying to change your lifestyle, food has a major effect. Some foods, such as yogurts, eggs, and fruit, can be good for weight loss. Other foods, however, should be avoided. Here are three unexpected foods you should avoid while on a diet.

3 Unexpected Foods to Avoid on a diet

  1. White bread.First, if your goal is to lose weight, you may want to avoid white bread. White bread is refined and can contain lots of added sugar. It is also high on the glycemic index, meaning that it can spike your blood sugar levels when you eat it. Just two slices of white bread per day can lead to significant weight gain.
  2. Fruit Juice.Next, fruit juices are another thing you should avoid if you’re trying to lose weight. Fruit juices have little in common with whole fruit because they tend to be highly processed and filled with added sugar. Fruit juices can contain as much sugar and calories as soda, so the best thing to do if you’re looking to lose weight is to eat whole fruit instead.
  3. Processed meat. Finally, you should also be wary of processed meat while dieting. Bacon, sausage, and hotdogs can put your life at risk in more ways than one. Processed meat can lead to weight gain, but studies have shown that it also increases the risk of diabetes, cancer, and high blood pressure.

Dieting is required for weight loss, but it’s important to feel full and satiated while you’re doing it. Because dieting requires a calorie deficit, the best way to stay full for longer is to eat quality meals and snacks. A quality snack, such as Jawbox Jerky, should contain a balance of your macronutrients to keep you feeling full for longer.
