Jawbox Jerky was born from a backyard barbecue challenge among friends: can we make a better, tastier, healthier jerky than what’s available? That night, Jawbox co-founder Jay Lane went home and ordered a dehydrator online.
And the next day Jay’s neighbor and Jawbox co-founder, Chef Devin (Devo) Beck, stopped by his local butcher to buy top-grade, grass-fed beef. Later that day, the very first batch of Jawbox Jerky was created.
From the beginning, our biggest fans were athletes. Today, Jawbox powers over 50 professional and collegiate programs in their quest for superior performance. Our amazing jerky is also enjoyed by thousands of people who seek nutritional snacks of the highest quality – whether to recover and refuel after a workout, or just to relax with a delicious, protein-packed snack.
From the very first batch, our jerky has been unique for using only the highest-quality meats. Today, our beef still comes from free-range, grass-fed and -finished cows, sourced from ranches across the United States. Our chicken jerky uses the healthiest free-range chickens – never injected with antibiotics or hormones.
Simply put, grass-fed beef and free-range chicken are better for you. They have all the protein, but are leaner, rich with vitamins and minerals, and free of harmful additives and fillers.
