Summer 2021 - CJ Anderson, previous Super Bowl winner as a running back for the Denver Broncos, joins Jawbox Jerky’s Board of Directors. Jawbox is excited to have CJ on board as we believe our values align and his vast business experience adds a competitive edge for our brand. With this partnership, we hope to continue to expand Jawbox Jerky as we continue to get it into the hands of athletes across the globe.

Background on CJ Anderson:

CJ Anderson played 7+ years in the NFL. He signed as an undrafted free agent with the Denver Broncos, made the Pro Bowl and won a Super Bowl Ring in Super Bowl 50. He also played in the Super Bowl LIII with the Los Angeles Rams. Following his NFL retirement, CJ has coached at the University of California (his alma mater) prior to being named Head Football Coach of Monte Vista High School in Danville, CA. He is also the founder of “The Dreams Never Die Foundation”, whose focus is to provide inner city & low income youth with the resources needed to persevere and ultimately reach their maximum potential in academics and/or athletics.

Why did CJ Anderson Join Jawbox?

Since 2014, he’s seen Jawbox grow its business within the professional sports community and he’s been a user of Jawbox since his time with the Denver Broncos. Partnering with us as we continue to fuel our growth was very attractive to him. He’s known the Founders and Story of Jawbox for a long time. For Jawbox, having a Super Bowl champion who knows what it takes to be at the top of their game was a no-brainer for us. On top of this, he’s very business savvy and brings another perspective to our Board of Directors.

What does Jawbox envision for the near future with CJ?

We’ve grown from a couple of guys making jerky in our kitchens to a business fueling over 50 teams in 6 years. Sports nutrition is a highly competitive industry dominated by large, multi-billion revenue-sized organizations. We’re excited to continue to build jerky products that support our customers through their athletic journey and doing it because it’s what we do, not part of what we do. CJ’s perspective and experience will allow us to continue our rapid growth!
