Contrary to popular belief, you don’t have to spend a lot of money to obtain healthy food for weight loss. Some of the best weight loss foods are relatively common, such as whole grains, leafy greens, and lean protein snacks.

  1. Leafy greens and fresh produce. Leafy greens and fresh produce are great for weight loss because they contain many of the required vitamins and minerals you need to fuel your body. Whether you like crunchy greens or savory greens, both are great additions to a healthy diet. Red and orange vegetables are also great for you because they are full of vitamins and high fiber.
  2. Whole grains. Generally speaking, the best kinds of whole grains are ones that must be cooked in water. These whole grains are packed with good carbohydrates to keep you energized throughout the day. Grains, such as brown rice, quinoa, and oatmeal, are great for heart health and maintaining a balanced diet.
  3. Quality proteins. Finally, a quality source of protein is necessary for weight loss as well. Quality protein foods help you gain muscle mass while keeping you full for longer and preventing excess snacking. A quality protein snack, such as Jawbox Jerky, can be stashed in your briefcase, purse, or gym bag. Jawbox Jerky is made from whole muscle cuts and has 16 grams of protein in a flavor-packed serving, which is great for keeping you full on the go.

Weight loss is as much about working out as it is eating healthy. Luckily, eating healthy is easier than it seems. The key to eating a balanced diet is to keep weight-loss-friendly foods available at all times. Quality produce, whole grains, and lean proteins are the way to go when it comes to developing the ideal diet for weight loss.
